The Russian Catholic community considers the Pussy Riot action in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior a blasphemy.

"We can only deeply sympathize with the Russian Orthodox Church and parishioners of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior as such an event in the church is certainly a hard blow for believers. I can imagine what we felt if such things happened in our church," head of the Information Service of the Catholic Archdiocese of the Holy Virgin in Moscow Rev. Kirill Gorbunov told Interfax-Religion on Friday.
