Prominent Finnish jazzman has canceled his concert in Russia in protest of the imprisonment and prosecution of three members of the female punk group Pussy Riot. Iiro Rantala cancelled concert in Moscow was scheduled for December 6. Rantala spoke with YLE news saying that he admires artists who have actively expressed their views on issues such as human rights.
 He  said on Twitter that he does not want to perform in a country where "freedom of speech is on the level of medieval ages."

UK artist Stuart Semple who is scheduled the to participate in Moscow’s first Public Arts Festival during the first week of September has announced on twitter that he will not fly his Happy Clouds as long as the members of Pussy Riot are imprisoned. He mentions that he hopes they will be free so he can fly Happy Clouds as a celebration of their freedom.
