Russia's Inter-Religious Council has condemned the Pussy Riot feminist punk group for alleged blasphemy and “inciting hatred between believers and nonbelievers.”
The pronouncement by the Inter-Religious Council -- which unites the leaders of Russia’s Orthodox Christian, Islamic, Jewish, and Buddhist faiths -- came with three members of Pussy Riot facing possible prosecution.
They have been arrested and charged with hooliganism and insulting religious believers in connection with a February 21 protest inside the Christ the Savior Cathedral in Moscow against Vladimir Putin's continued rule in Russia.
